Kitchen Assistant
Milly’s is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to join our team. As a kitchen assistant you will be responsible for creating a positive customer experience by providing high-quality food dishes, a clean atmosphere, and excellent service. We are hoping to find somebody with a passion for coffee and a love for the community. Experience in customer service required, coffee knowledge preferred but not required. Candidates must be detail oriented, able to multitask, and be able to talk to customers in a friendly, welcoming manner.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing friendly and efficient service.

Food Prep: Making food items to order in a timely manner and at the highest standards. .

Quality Control: Ensuring that all food meets quality standards in terms of taste, presentation, and temperature.

Menu Knowledge: Having a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including coffee offerings, specialty drinks, and food items.

Cash Handling: Handling cash, processing payments, and operating the cash register or POS system accurately.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the work area clean, dishes done, and customer sitting areas clean and sanitized.

Teamwork: Collaborating and clear communication with other staff members to ensure smooth operations..

Knowledge of Equipment: Understanding how to operate the oven, microwave, toaster, and hot plate.

Upselling: Recommending additional items such as pastries, sandwiches, or specialty drinks to customers.

Training and Development: Continuously improving skills and knowledge through training sessions and staying updated on industry trends and techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing and walking for duration of shift

Lifting items up to 50lbs

COMPENSATION
Starting pay averages $14.90-$20 an hour (this includes base pay + tips) We offer employee discounts and paid time off. All employees have a 90 day introductory period. During this time, the position and responsibility could change once evaluation of skills is assessed. Those meeting expectations will continue employment with a pay increase.
